Oil painting

Incredible very large oil painting by Alan Crisp really capturing the spirit and power and colour of the famous Black Watch regiment from Scotland.

This scene depicts an epic battle on the North West Frontier.

Painting measures 248 x 116cm and is housed in a very contemporary stunning black box frame which really sets the painting off well.

In the frame the size is 264 x 130 cm..

Painting is signed on the flag and dated 1968 and appears to include another famous face from Scotland in the 1960's as one of the soldiers. Can you see who it is?

Alan Crisp (b.1924)  is probably best known for his large mural paintings which were commissioned all over the UK and for his motoring paintings.

He was trained at The Slade School of Fine Art London.
